IIRIS The Band Of The Day

Today we have favourite IIRIS as The Band Of the  Day.

Iiris Vesik (born 16 July 1991), as an artist better known mononymously as Iiris, is an Estonian singer-songwriter and stage actress. 2010 was a year that rocketed Iiris into the spotlight. After the showcase festival „Tallinn Music Week“, Iiris got people talking. At the beginning of 2011 Iiris became the artist of the week on MTV Iggy’s blog – “A depressingly few amount of bands have “it.” In fact, I’m pretty sure I didn’t know what “it” was, until I listened to Estonian singer/songwriter/pianist Iiris. Because whatever “it” is, she definitely has it. Iiris has the eclecticism, the smarts, the innovation, the pop sound, not to mention the adorable/pretty image to become a huge mega mega, mega star.”

Iiris has been compared to many of the greats – Björk, Kate Bush, Regina Spektor and even Florence & The Machine, but she`s always managed to remain original and unique. Her vocals sound hypnotic and fairy-like, she can be commanding and agressive, but when she sits down behind her piano and bares it all – you cannot help but to surrender to this Estonian girl`s talent & beauty. Her debut album “The Magic Gift Box” was released on March 28th 2012 on EMI Music Finland which was nominated for 5 Estonian Music Awards, incl best album, best female artist and best pop album

“Especially good performance and great songwriting”, said Dietmar Schwenger of MusikWoche.

Iiris is an artist who is born to be on stage. Wherever she`s been, wherever she`s performed, audience has been left in awe:

“What time is it? Did I miss the first bands playing tonight? Iiris is owning the stage like a headlining act.” (The Reykjavik Grapevine)

“Iiris is in search of strange soundscapes and alt-rock with delicately bold vocals, and it works.” (NME blog)

“The band’s intense energy and interdynamics, as well as Iiris’s (lead vocals) bubbly personality and control of the stage set an extraordinary tone for the rest of the evening.” (Nutflicks)

“Iiris was out of this world. She was full of confidence and sparked the joy of being onstage. (Soundi).

VIDEO: Kendall & Kylie Spring Collection

Get swept into a springtime daydream with this light and airy collection, where ivories and soft rose hues make up a modern yet sophisticated palette. These perfect spring looks combine soft medallion prints to lace and lightweight fabrics and pair back perfectly to your light wash denim. Music by XYLØ

The Jenner sisters go from sunny California girls to creepy ‘The Shining’ style twins in the latest promo video for their upcoming PacSun clothing line.
The ‘Kendall & Kylie Spring Collection’ video is dreamy, mysterious and a bit weird, as the girls are shown lounging around in what looks like an abandoned mansion.

The older video promo 2014 was creepy to.

Smashing Pumpkins, Marilyn Manson Plot End Times Tour

Alt-rock heroes will make co-headlining trek across the United States this summer

Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson will embark on a co-headlining jaunt dubbed The End Times Tour this summer.

Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson will be spreading Nineties angst and nostalgia across the United States this summer when they embark on their co-headlining tour dubbed, The End Times.
The 23-date trek kicks off July 7th at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California and concludes August 8th at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tickets will go on sale April 3rd, while more information will be made available on the Pumpkins' and Manson's respective websites. A full list of tour dates is below.
While Manson has spent a good chunk of 2015 on the road in support of his latest LP, The Pale Emperor, The End Times tour will mark the first significant set of live dates for Smashing Pumpkins following the release of their eighth album, Monuments To An Elegy. Billy Corgan and Co. did play a handful of shows upon the album's release last December, with Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk and Killers bassist Mark Stoermer comprising the band's rhythm section; no word yet on whether they'll rejoin the Pumpkins this summer.
Manson joined Corgan at one of those initial Monuments shows in London, performing his own single, "Third Day of a Seven Day Binge," and assisting the Pumpkins on Adore's "Ava Adore." The moment seemed to settle a brief feud between the two, which ostensibly began — per an interview Manson gave to Larry King in 2013 — after the shock rocker suggested to Corgan that "it would be a good marketing idea that if he sold Charlie Brown T-shirts and bald caps at concerts."

Hear David Duchovny's Moody Alt-Rock From Debut Album

LP comes out same month actor appears on new show 'Aquarius'

David Duchovny will release his first album of music, Hell or Highwater, this spring. The record contains 12 songs that the X-Files and Californication actor composed himself.

Preview a Cure-like instrumental section of "Hell or Highwater" and the record's upbeat, indie-folk-leaning "Another Year" below. The title track is out now; the full LP is due out May 12th.
"Making this record is a dream come true, but I never had this dream – it's still a shock when I think about how all this music happened," Duchovny said in a statement. "What I do know is that I feel these songs represent the truest expression that I've ever been able to achieve and I look forward to sharing it with everyone."

The actor discussed his foray into music with Rolling Stone last year, comparing its sound to Wilco and R.E.M. but qualifying those references by saying he wished it sounded like that "in [his] wildest dreams." Duchovny first picked up a guitar a few years ago, learning Flaming Lips' "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" as his first song on the instrument. Ultimately, his interest in playing guitar dovetailed into his interest in writing poetry.

"Once I started playing music, I started thinking, 'Gee, I should be able to write lyrics,'" Duchovny said. "And I just fell backwards into the whole thing. It's just been a real pleasure in my life, regardless of who buys it and what people think of it when it comes out. It's been a lifesaver just to be able to play music, write songs and think about singing songs to friends."
With the album on its way, right now is a very busy time for Duchovny. He's written an "allegorical story" in the form of a novel, Holy Cow, which came out earlier this year. And he also has signed on to do a limited run of new X-Files episodes, also with Gillian Anderson and series creator Chris Carter back on board.
But first, he will star in NBC's Aquarius, a period drama set in the Sixties in which Duchovny plays a cop who's on the hunt for a killer that turns out to be the Manson Family. "It's [set in] a very interesting time period for the country," he told Rolling Stone. "Still, to this day, there's a lot of mystique about the promise of the Sixties and what went wrong there and what's gone wrong since. You had Manson on one hand, and the dark side of the Sixties, and you've got peace, love and Flower Power on the light side. There's a lot to work with."
Aquarius is set to premiere in May.
