Ozzy Osbourne Cancels Ozzfiesta in Mexico

Ozzy Osbourne has had to cancel his own festival in order to undergo surgery.

The Black Sabbath singer was scheduled to perform the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya from May 27-31.

Ozzfiesta - the Mexican leg of Ozzfest - was due to take place at Riviera Maya's Hard Rock Hotel on May 27, but the concert has now been cancelled, as the Black Sabbath frontman will be undergoing surgery, and needs four weeks recovery time, according to doctors.

Cool Breeze is offering refunds to people who purchased tickets to the event.

Osbourne will undergo surgery following shows in South America, which begin April 25.
Black Sabbath will play its final show on Nov. 22, headlining the second day of Ozzfest at Japan's Makuhari Messe venue, outside Tokyo.

Rolling Stone reports that the surgery is 'unspecified'. Osbourne will still be playing a number of Monsters of Rock gigs in Brazil and Argentina at the end of April, ahead of his medical treatment.

Black Sabbath will release one final album in 2015, the follow-up to '13'. Frontman Osbourne says he understands his bandmates desire to stop touring but that he is not ready to give up yet. "[This will be] our last hurrah…then it's no more Sabbath at all. We're disbanding the name and everything. They don't want to tour anymore. I get it. But I love it. I'm gonna continue my solo thing," says Osbourne revealing that he is "in the process of collecting stuff that I'm writing" for his next solo effort.

Black Sabbath have released 13 studio albums since forming in 1968. The current line up of the band sees Osbourne and guitarist Tony Iommi joined by third original member Geezer Butler on bass.

Do Cats Like Music Too? Study Finds......

Cats are very specific when it comes to the type of music they like.

 By Amanda Bernocco

cat

Cats love listening to music as long as it's written in the right pitch and tempo.

Humans are the only ones who love a good tune?
What cat owner hasn't wondered what their pet was thinking?
It turns out cats probably are thinking their owner's taste in music stinks.
Cats can also appreciate a good beat - as long as it's written in their pitch and tempo, according to a new study.

A team of researchers from University of Wisconsin-Madison studied 47 neutered, indoor cats at 23 homes that featured a range of breeds, gender and ages, the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinel reported

The cats were played four sound samples. Two of the songs were classical, and the other two songs were written specifically for cats by David Teie, a University of Maryland composer.
"We know growls or threat sounds are in a lower range, so we wanted to avoid those sounds. We picked tempos that would be interesting to cats, the beat of purring," Charles Snowdon, the lead author of the study, told the Journal Sentinel.

The results show that most cats love music, just not necessarily your music!
The study was published in the journal Applied Animal Behaviour Science.

Eminem Teases Us With A New Song In Jake Gyllenhaal’s ‘Southpaw’ Trailer

50 Cent and Rita Ora are in the film too.

OK, we have good news and we have bad news — and we’re going to assume you want the good news first. Eminem has new music and we couldn’t be more excited; the bad news is, it may be a little while before you get to hear it in full.
Lucky for us though, the Rap God decided to bless us with a snippet of his new tune at the end of a trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal’s new Antoine Fuqua-directed flick “Southpaw.” Em hopped on Twitter on Friday morning (Mar. 27) and perked our ears when he wrote: “Sneak peek of some new stuff I’ve been working on in the @SouthPawMovie trailer. World premiere!”

So of course we clicked the link and sat at the edge of our seats as Gyllenhaal — who plays lefty boxing champ Billy “The Great” Hope — falls from grace after his wife’s tragic death. It’s the ultimate fighter flick, with appearances from 50 Cent and Rita Ora. No shade, but imagine how much better “Rocky” would’ve been with a 50 Cent cameo — granted Fif was only a baby when “Rocky” was released, but you catch our drift.
We don’t get the new Eminem song until the end and all we really hear is Slim shouting out “I am phenomenal” over a dramatic synth, but it’s better than nothing, right?
While he’s at it, maybe Em could drop a snippet for “Champions,” his upcoming collaboration with 50.

“Southpaw” hits theaters on July 31, 2015.

Kiesza The Band Of The Day

Today i decide to provide Kiesza as The Band Of the  Day.

Kiesa Rae Ellestad (born 1989), better known by her stage name Kiesza, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and dancer from Calgary who has most recently worked out of New York City and London. She is best known for her debut single “Hideaway”.

Personal life

Kiesza was born and raised in Calgary. Her last name Ellestad is Norwegian from her paternal side and her grandfather is from Fagernes in Norway. When she was 16 she took part in the Sail and Life Training Society (SALTS) program and a year later she joined the reserves of the Royal Canadian Navy along with her brother, becoming a NavCom (Naval Communicator). It was whilst she was at crew singalongs at the Navy that she taught herself to play guitar. Meanwhile, she also entered the Miss Universe Canada pageant. She stated that her time in the Navy motivated her to give away 4,500 CDs to Canadian troops serving in Afghanistan in 2008.
Kiesza took part in the Young Canadians, performing tap and jazz dancing, as well as theatre. She also trained as a ballerina, however, a knee injury at age 15 ended her ballet career. When Kiesza was 18, she says that her parents' divorce caused her to write her first song, as a way of expressing her feelings. The same year, she heard a song of hers played on the radio.
In an interview with the Metro, Kiesza claimed that she can trace her lineage to someone who fought alongside Robert the Bruce at the Battle of Bannockburn, elaborating "There's a lot of Scottish people in Canada. Tons. My grandpa was of Scottish heritage - he was of the black Douglases".

Music career

Early beginnings

CKUA Folk Routes host Tom Coxworth selected her to perform for a live audience and to be broadcast live on his radio show. Shortly after, she was accepted to the Selkirk College in Nelson, BC, where she studied keyboard, voice and guitar. Next, Kiesza obtained a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. After attending Berklee, she went to New York City in 2010 to advance her music career. Although Kiesza started as mainly a folk singer, after attending Berklee and then living in New York, she moved to a more "uptempo sound" for which she works with producer Rami Samir Afuni. In 2010 she was selected to play at the Canada Day celebrations at Trafalgar Square in London for 30,000 people.
In 2012, Kiesza released her first single after starting work with Afuni in New York, a "disco-infused pop" single titled "Oops" about a couple that had unprotected sex. She labelled her style of music at the time as "SteamPop", described by AjanWrites as "a flaming brew of bold, boisterous pop filled with tongue-in-cheek lyrics". In a later 2014 interview, she said "Oops" was made as a joke.
Kiesza was featured in the single Triggerfinger by the Norwegian band Donkeyboy in 2013. She has also written for other artists, such as Rihanna, Kylie Minogue and Icona Pop.

2014–present: Sound of a Woma

She performed a slowed down version, with a video showing her and others, slowly revealed to be without clothes, to express "raw emotions".
Kiesza's second single, "Giant in My Heart", premiered on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show on 13 June 2014. It entered the UK Singles Chart at number four.

She announced plans to release her own line of fashion under the name "SteamPop" sometime in 2014.

7 Besties That Taylor Swift Needs To Add To Her Wolf Pack ASAP

Let's face it: Taylor's squad is fresh to death -- but we have some suggestions.

By Nova M. Bajamonti

Taylor Swift is one of the coolest cats in Hollywood and she’s got the squad to back that statement up — see: Beyoncé, Lorde, Selena Gomez, Haim, Karlie Kloss, Ellie Goulding, Hailee Steinfeld and more. We’re going to need a minute to take in all that awesomeness, TBH.

Yes, it’s pretty much a fact that Tay has the greatest crew around, but we have a few ideas when it comes to expanding her friend group with even more #WCW-worthy girl crushes. We don’t know about you, but we want Taylor to feel 22 every day alongside her brand-new besties!
  1. Shay Mitchell (The ‘Tell All’ Friend)

    tumblr_ly5wikF2Ud1r1fabt
Taylor Swift knows a thing or two about bullies. I mean, she did write a song called “Mean.” You know, the one we all wanted to sing to certain people back in high school. If anyone can relate, it’s Shay Mitchell — who was bullied in school and ate lunch alone. I’m sure they can bond over how far they’ve come since HS — and how their bullies, um, have not. And they both love cooking things like pizza and pasta, so dishing on people while creating a dish sounds like a perfect girl date!
  2. Lily Collins (The Mall Date Bestie)

    tumblr_inline_mmoxlvgfjn1qz4rgp
If you were to Google “Taylor Swift twirling GIFs,” it’s safe to say you’d get pretty jealous. She looks like a fairy in each and every one, while us — well, watch out motion sickness. BUT, can’t you just picture Lily Collins joining in on the action? They could go shopping together to find perfect twirly dresses and then step out of the dressing room — at the same time — twirling in slow motion. Chills down my spine.
  3. Ashley Greene (The Adrenaline Junkie)

    00b613a5
With all of Taylor Swift’s sold-out shows, countless interviews and demanding rehearsals, she needs a break! We all know she loves to unwind and recharge at the beach, but how about we skip the suntanning and opt for an adrenaline-inducing adventure?! Paging Ashley Greene — she’s our resident expert at how to get the heart pumping and “Oh-My-God-This-Can’t-Be-Real-Life-Realness.” That’s right, we’re talking about everything from cliff-diving to surfing to hiking. She’s the kind of pal who will take you out of your comfort zone and challenge you not to play it safe. Don’t worry about that beach selfie Taylor, because you’ll be too busy diving to capture it.
  4. Zendaya (The Netflix Binge-Watcher)

    tumblr_lwo7psj7Jg1r3h4ef
We all have that one best friend in our lives with whom we can be our complete (and sometimes too comfortable!) selves. We’re talking about that intense side of us — the lazy, PJ-wearing, “pass the 3rd (or 4th!) bag of Cheetos, please,” kind. Zendaya’s the right kind of gal pal for Taylor Swift’s endless Netflix lounging days because they’re both way into “Law and Order.” Fear not Taylor, you don’t have to watch alone anymore with Zendaya in the mix. Plus: We have a hunch that there’ll be some homemade snacks and DIY junk food ideas tossed around! Spicy peanut caramel corn anyone? And yes, that’s actually a thing.
  5. Victoria Justice (The Life of the Party)

    tumblr_m52o9hOvly1rqtw44o1_500
Taylor is not known to take herself too seriously. Let’s be real — she looks like she enjoys the VMAs more than the artists performing. She’s always up for some spontaneous, fun plans — and is always down to bust out some silly dance movies. Well, Victoria Justice loves to be quirky and enjoy and own her weirdness, just like Taylor. Victoria’s favorite hobbies are making videos, going on roller-coasters, and singing karaoke with her friends. One can only imagine the jokes these two could make together.
  6. Lea Michele (Chef-in-Crime)

    tumblr_mdybwpwkqr1rub04go1_500
Despite her glamorous life, Taylor Swift is still the same down-to-Earth, sweet, small-town girl she always was. Case in point: One of her go-tos for a girl’s night (you know, not like we’ve been Taylurking on her Insta or anything) is baking. Lea Michele can say #YAAAAASS to that because she loves baking treats for her friends and family. Lea getting the sprinkles out while Taylor mixes the batter? Sounds like #teamworkgoals.
  7. Shailene Woodley (The Crafty Gal-Pal)

    tumblr_inline_minp6fWhhe1qz4rgp
If you’ve caught your jaw dropping at the packages Taylor surprises her fans with and sometimes even delivers herself, it gets better! How about instead of Taylor’s favorite candles, perfumes and body lotions, her fans were gifted with homemade items. Calling our homegirl Shailene Woodley, whose flower child ways inspire her to make her own body lotions, face oils and toothpaste. Watch out, Martha Stewart.

We hope you like our girl crush applications, Taylor!

Miley Cyrus to Mike Pence: You’re an a--hole

Singer Miley Cyrus wants to take a wrecking ball to Indiana Gov. Mike Pence’s “religious freedom” bill.
“You’re an asshole @govpenceIN,” Cyrus posted on Instagram on Thursday, alongside a headshot of the Republican governor.
“The only place that has more idiots that [sic] Instagram is in politics,” she continued.
Cyrus’ harsh words come after Pence signed legislation Thursday that would allow people in Indiana to withhold their services for same-sex weddings and other activities for religious reasons. Some say the bill allows for businesses in Indiana to withhold services without government intervention and others say it allows for discrimination against gays.
Cyrus has been a vocal supporter of the right of same-sex couples to marry. In 2011, the singer had a small equals sign tattooed on her ring finger and tweeted a picture of her new ink with the caption “All LOVE is equal.”
“This is America, the nation of dreams. We’re so proud of that. And yet certain people are excluded. It’s just not right,” Cyrus wrote for Glamour magazine in a 2012 article titled “Why Miley Got Her Gay-Marriage Tattoo.”
“Why are the macho afraid to love muchoooo?!?” she said Thursday on Instagram.

Katy Perry The Band Of The Day

Today i decide to provide Katy Perry as The Band Of the  Day.

Katy Perry (born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson on 25 October 1984) is a singer/songwriter from Santa Barbara, California, United States. Since the release of her 2007 debut single “Ur So Gay”, Perry has released two albums - 2008’s “One of the Boys” and 2010’s “Teenage Dream” - and has had six Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit singles.

Under the name Katy Hudson, she released a self-titled gospel album in 2001, which was unsuccessful. She later recorded an album with production team The Matrix and completed the majority of a solo album from 2004–05, the later of which was never released. After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry and released her first Internet single “Ur So Gay” that November, which garnered public attention but failed to chart. She rose to fame with the release of her second single “I Kissed a Girl” in 2008, which went on to top international charts. Perry’s first mainstream studio album One of the Boys followed later that year and subsequently became the 33rd-best selling album worldwide of 2008. It was accredited platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America, while “I Kissed a Girl” and her second single “Hot n Cold” both received multi-platinum certifications.

Her second studio album Teenage Dream was released in August 2010 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album includes five Billboard chart-toppers “California Gurls”, “Teenage Dream”, “Firework”, and “E.T.” and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”, making Teenage Dream only the second album - after Michael Jackson’s Bad - to have five songs reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. With “E.T.” at number one on the chart of May 12, 2011, Perry became the first artist in history to spend 52 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Perry was credited as a guest judge on the seventh series of British television show The X Factor, has released a fragrance called “Purr”, and voices Smurfette in the 2011 film The Smurfs. Perry had a long relationship with Travie McCoy; she married Russell Brand on October 23, 2010. After 14 months of marriage, Brand filed for divorce from Perry on December 30, 2011, in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce became effective in July 2012.

Elliphant Takes on SXSW and Beyond

Ellinor Olovsdotter is a Swedish girl who never thought she’d be making music. A wild moment of spontaneity found her singing over friend and producer Tim Deneve’s beats (one half of Swedish producer duo, Jungle) at a party. Deneve realized Ellinor could sing and asked her to help him with his demos. Two friends making music quickly burned into a molten musical fire as Ellinor morphed into Elliphant, igniting a provocative pot of pop that found the singer signed to TEN Music Group only six months later.
With a self-titled debut EP and debut album that were only released overseas, Elliphant’s ascent has been a gradual one. The recent worldwide release of her EP One More last fall (which included the tantalizing title track featuring Danish singer MØ), coupled with the trifecta of girl pop power of her tour with Charli XCX and Femme, has Elliphant primed for a musical takeover as fierce and guttural as her music. We caught up with the singer to talk the Swedish music scene, her favorite way to get to know a city on tour, why performing is comparable to sex, and what she looked forward to at this past week’s SXSW festival.

What's the music scene in Stockholm like? It’s very big actually! It’s a lot of pop coming out of Sweden. We have a big indie rock scene. We have a big metal scene. We have a BIG Swedish hip-hop scene also! That’s probably about 50% of what’s on the radio. We have a big music culture in Sweden. There’s a lot of music!

Do you think the culture of your hometown has had an effect on your music?Oh, I forgot to say we also have a big minimal house, techno progression scene. I think I am very inspired by — at least with my lyrics — early techno parties. When I was 16, 17, that was when I was at amazing parties with people that welcomed me with dancing and beautiful, fluffy pink clothes. I’m very inspired by the love, almost like that festival love, in the electronic music scene. Also my sound is very big and I’m not shy when it comes to adding electronic elements to my music.

Who are some of your favorite artists to have come out of Sweden’s music scene? There’s many I really like! I think it’s amazing Tove Lo is doing so well! She’s someone that I’ve been with in the same group of people and I love seeing how much she’s grown. She’s been amazing for years — I’ve seen a lot of performances by her. I really like the little bit more underground but still commercial scene of Sweden as well. Seinabo Sey is growing big time! Jasmine — she’s so sweet and so incredible.

What were you like growing up? Was there a defining moment when you realized you wanted to pursue music as a career?Well, I think when you grow up, sometimes you end up becoming exactly like your family, and sometimes you revolt. My mom was so very great and so into music. She was constantly, constantly playing music. She put all her money into buying new records and sound equipment. She had a lot of parties and would play music all the time. I think my sound is very inspired by her, but I was so tired of music because all the time it was right in front of my nose. Sometimes she had one CD playing in the kitchen, one playing in the living room, and another one in her bedroom at the same time. She was like ADHD with her music! I think it was too much. I was never hunting for idols. I was never hunting for music. I never had a big interest but I always appreciated a good song or a good sound. And I loved going out to dance and have music around me and getting shit-faced.

You describe your music as provocative pop. Can you elaborate a little more on what that means to you?I call it provocative in the sense that I’m not really choosing a genre. I’m not chasing a sound — I’m catching sound that comes my way from producers and that interests me. You’ll probably not be able listen to the whole album at the same kind of event. So I call it provocative because it’s not a genre. It’s a wild pop project. The sound hasn’t made up its mind at all because I have no set plan of what I’m doing and I just want to be honest about that. I appreciate everything that comes my way. So it’s provocative pop because it’s always going to have a bit more attitude and always going to be changeable. It’s rock pop. It’s hip-hop pop. It’s techno-pop.

Let’s talk about your EP One More. I love the title track with MØ but another highlight for me is this triumphant, powerful anthem “Save The Grey.” Can you elaborate a little on what that song is about and what it means to you?“Save The Grey” is something I thought about so much in my life — about greyness in the mind. I think grey is very underestimated because it’s a very important place in us and the new world doesn’t really have the patience for it. It doesn’t really have a place for the grey mind. I look at all my fellow people with different mind-related diagnoses and I see a lot of experimental medication and how it’s not always helping people. It’s dulling their spirit. I was diagnosed with ADHD so I’ve always been fascinated with the grey of the mind. The fact that it’s always in the grey zone where the creativity is going on and where choices are made. The whole story is there. It’s in the grey space.
Also, when I stand up for something as an artist, I want to focus on something I feel is important. Animals and nature are everything to me. I’ve been very lucky and done everything I wanted to do in my life, but it’s my biggest dream — the only thing I’ve ever longed for in my entire life — to get close to nature and animals. The grey animals in the world are very endangered. They need help and I felt like I could help them, at least a little bit by raising money under the “Save The Grey” project for the endangered rhino, the elephant, the shark, the whale, and the wolf. I hope to create many more songs on the subject, with other bands in different ways to raise awareness. Maybe in the future we can have a real foundation for these old, sensitive, wise animals. If we kill them, I don’t know how we can survive that.

Is that why you landed on the name Elliphant? For your love of these endangered animals?I’m very focused on animals. I always have been since I was a kid, talking about animals, drawing animals, being obsessed with animals. I really love elephants. I mean, how can you not? It’s the coolest fucking animal on earth. I don’t really have a favorite animal, though, so the name wasn’t really for elephants. There was a friend that I was going to make music with and he began saying it. And at first I didn’t like it, but then I thought you know, it’s really pretty cool. Over a beer I was like, 'okay, let’s do that! Let’s be Elliphant!' For me, it was important not to be Elli. A lot of Swedish artists, and especially Swedish girls, are doing their artistic thing under their own names. I just really wanted to expose myself so I didn’t want to have my name [attached]. I just wanted to be something big and something that was a contrast to me. It’s something you will remember: a Swedish girl named Elliphant. I warmed up to it quickly and really love the name now.

You’ve been on tour a lot recently (last year with Charli XCX and Femme, and most recently across Europe). Do you have a favorite city or venue you’ve played? That’s so hard! I actually don’t really have favorites. Sometimes I have a favorite song but it’s over very quickly. It’s the same with venues. Sometimes you’re in a really shitty venue and you have the best show of your life. Sometimes you’re in this amazing venue and the sound is just too good and you don’t get a vibe.

What's your favorite way to learn about a city or culture when you’re visiting? What’s your favorite thing to do in each city?I always try the local beer! Usually, you’re there just one day and you use a lot of time traveling. Usually we’ll go straight from the airport to the venue, have soundcheck, do press, and then go to dinner. I’ll always try to have a good dinner everywhere I go because if you go to a local, cool place you get a pretty good vibe of the city in a short time. I go to the venue, I go to the bars, I try the beer and eat the city’s food!

You’ve done so many live shows. How has your live show evolved from your first show until now? What can an audience expect at your live show? I think I don’t scream as much anymore. Before I had no voice control at all and I was just so excited that I couldn’t control myself. I would be exhausted after just two songs. My heart would be racing. I’m now better at that, at controlling my physical self and being a little bit more chill. Also nowadays, I have this earpiece and I can listen to myself over the volumes which makes it a little bit easier with the voice control. My set is still very much me. I haven’t changed it too much. It’s still me and a DJ and it's still really raw. I’ve done some production on some songs and made it a little more effective on stage. And now I usually have a sound manager with me that helps me with the sound of the songs. It’s cool stuff like that. I didn’t evolve too much. Every night it still feels very new. That moment is very new every time. It’s almost like having sex with someone. Even if you have sex with someone for 20 years, as soon as you meet a new person it’s going to be like you’ve never had sex ever before. It’s going to be an entirely new experience. You open yourself up like never before and it’s really intense and honest between artist and fans. It’s just never the same every night, but still it’s the same.

You’re here in SXSW — have you ever been? And what are you looking forward to most?Yes, I’ve been to Austin twice before! I don’t remember the name of the place — it’s over the bridge, over the river, and you go a little bit further and it’s this big warehouse. The people that have that venue are so cool and I really love that space. The sound is almost too good. It’s not so loud. Even if you’re at a punk show, you can still talk to each other with the music playing. That’s definitely a super cool venue. The performances there have always been so cool. And also Austin people are so cool. I really love the audience and I have so much fun every time I’m there. There’s a big sausage place there too! I’m so excited to go there. Have you been? It’s a really big, cool, trendy place where you can buy amazing sausage inside of the tent. It’s in the area of where SXSW is. I don’t remember what it’s called though. They have the most amazing sausage there. So I’m looking forward to that! [Ed. note: We're guessing Banger's Sausage House and Beer Garden.]

You're performing SX. But is there anybody you’re looking forward to seeing play?Yes! I always want to go and check out the Mad Decent show because there is always new, cool bands playing and people to meet. It’s always wild fun and a good party. I also feel like it’d be cool to see Tove Lo. I haven’t checked too much because one of the best things about this festival is you are in the zone. If you have too much planned, it’s going to fuck your shit up a little bit. I think it’s good to just go with the flow and fall into random shows and be a little bit disorganized. I think it’s good to be a little bit wild! But my schedule is crazy. I am doing a lot of shows so I just hope I have time to be a little bit spontaneous and rumble around. It’s going to be so much fun. I’m really excited!

Rihanna has unleashed her new song. But you have to sign up to Dubsmash to hear it.
The Barbados-raised singer had earlier teased the release of "Bitch Better Have My Money” (or “BBHMM”), her new single. RiRi shared news in the small hours of its release on Dubsmash, an app where users can video themselves lip-syncing to tunes. At the time of writing, the song hadn’t leaked in full though snippets can be heard through the iTunes link in her tweet.
The pop star recently shared details on her forthcoming eighth studio album. "I've made a lot of songs that are just really, really big songs. From the jump, they just blow up," she told MTV about the album. "And I wanted to kind of get back to - not that they weren't real music, but I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever." Rihanna also noted that the release will have a "timeless" vibe to it.
